Why You’re Here

Something Needs Fixing, and You Want It Done Once, Properly, Without Metal

A cracked tooth, a filling that keeps failing, a gap where a tooth used to be. Restorative dentistry is the bread and butter of any practice. The holistic difference is in the materials and in how much healthy tooth is preserved.

Amalgam fillings, metal-backed crowns and titanium posts are the conventional answers. Here the answers are tooth-colored composite, ceramic and zirconia, chosen for biocompatibility, and placed with biomimetic techniques that remove only what is diseased.

Dr. Odinsky is an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and IAOMT SMART certified, so both ends of restorative care, replacing teeth and removing old mercury fillings, are handled in-house.

The Restorative Ladder

Metal-Free Restorative Options, From Smallest to Largest

We start at the bottom of this list and only climb when the tooth needs it.

  1. Composite Fillings

Tooth-colored, mercury-free, bonded in layers for small to medium decay. Composite fillings

  2. Inlays & Onlays

Ceramic pieces made in the lab to rebuild a larger area while keeping the healthy walls of the tooth. Inlays and onlays

  3. Metal-Free Crowns

Zirconia or porcelain full coverage when a tooth is cracked or heavily filled. No metal core, no gray gumline. Metal-free crowns

  4. Ceramic Implants

A zirconia implant and crown to replace a missing tooth without metal. Dental implants

  5. Dentures & Partials

Comfortable, natural-looking replacements for several or all teeth, including metal-free partial designs. Dentures and partials

  6. Safe Mercury Removal

Old amalgam replaced under the IAOMT SMART protocol before any of the above is placed. Safe mercury removal

What to Expect

Diagnose First, Then Choose the Least Invasive Fix

Every restorative plan begins with a full exam, low-dose digital X-rays, and radiation-free CariVu imaging to see the true extent of decay or a crack. Then Dr. Odinsky explains the options in plain language, including the smaller and less expensive ones.

Prepared teeth may be treated with ozone to reduce bacteria before a restoration is bonded. Materials are metal-free and BPA-free throughout.

Comfort is built in, with the Wand for gentle numbing, headphones, and nitrous oxide if you want it.

Common Questions

Restorative Dentistry Questions, Answered

How much does restorative dentistry cost in Fort Lee, NJ?

It ranges from a single filling to a full implant, so it depends on what the exam finds. You receive a written estimate before treatment. We work with select dental insurance plans, which usually cover part of restorative care, and offer CareCredit and Cherry financing. Members of our Dental Wellness Plan receive 20% off restorative treatment. See financing and insurance details.

What does metal-free restorative dentistry mean?

No amalgam fillings, no metal-backed crowns, and zirconia available instead of titanium for implants. Every material is chosen for biocompatibility as well as strength.

Filling, onlay or crown: how do you decide?

By how much healthy tooth is left. Small decay gets a bonded composite filling. A larger area with intact walls gets a ceramic inlay or onlay. A cracked or heavily filled tooth gets a crown. We always choose the smallest restoration that will last.

Can you replace my old silver fillings?

Yes. Our team is IAOMT SMART certified and removes amalgam under the full protocol, then restores the tooth with composite or ceramic. Learn about safe mercury removal.

How long do metal-free restorations last?

Bonded composite, ceramic and zirconia restorations are designed for long service life and, because they bond to the tooth, they resist the leakage that shortens the life of older work. Good home care and regular visits matter, as always.

Do I need to be a current patient?

No. New patients are welcome, including second opinions on a recommended treatment plan. Call (201) 592-6222 or use the form above to schedule.
