3 Important Oral Health Warning Signs

Dealing with an unexpected emergency is no fun, especially if it involves a costly repair or it disrupts your plans. Thankfully, many of the things we use on a daily basis, our cars for example, often give us warnings or have indicator lights to notify us of a pending problem we should have checked out before it becomes a significant and expensive issue. Our mouths work in much the same way. We often have patients who are surprised when they experience a dental emergency, but then realize their mouth has been giving them warning signs for quite some time. Importance Of A Proper Bite

When we have patients who visit our office and are interested in straightening their teeth, most patients are only concerned about the appearance of their teeth. They want to smile and show off beautiful, straight teeth. However, when we examine patients who are considering orthodontic care, we have a different concern — their bite. In fact, we often have patients who are suffering from a different problem and are surprised to learn they have an incorrect bite and it is leading to their oral health issues. Your bite is the way your upper and lower teeth fit together when you have your mouth closed as well as when you are chewing your food.

Be Proactive With Your Oral Health

Dr. Joel Singer and his team are dedicated to helping patients improve their oral health as well as their overall health. Dr. Odinsky practices holistic dentistry, which focuses on promoting overall health and wellness and looking at the signs your body is providing to determine what is causing the issues with your oral health. One way this is possible is when patients follow routine oral care. We typically see our patients twice a year, unlike general practitioners who typically only see patients once a year. This gives us the opportunity to talk with our patients about how they are feeling as well as anything they are noticing with both their oral health as well as their overall health.

Smile Like A Celebrity!

Do you look at celebrity smiles and wish your smile could have a similar appearance? If you are unhappy with the appearance of your smile, we can help make the changes you desire to give you the smile of your dreams. You may be surprised to learn that many of the celebrity smiles you love are not natural. Many celebrities have had cosmetic dentistry treatments to give them the smiles you admire. We offer these same treatments to our patients as well. One treatment in particular can be used to change and improve the appearance of the front teeth. Who Is A Candidate For Dental Implants?

There is no excitement like that of a child who has lost their tooth for the first time. That excitement continues with each baby tooth that falls out. Unfortunately, as adults we don’t share that same excitement when there is a loss of a tooth. There can be a number of reasons why a patient may need to lose a tooth as an adult. Our goal is to help our patients through the process and help them choose a tooth replacement option as soon as possible. Our first treatment recommendation is always a dental implant.

Learn About A “Royal” Treatment For Your Mouth

Did we recommend a dental crown during your last appointment and you have hesitated to schedule your treatment because you are unsure of the treatment process? We know it can be a little nerve-racking to schedule a treatment you are unfamiliar with. While we are always sympathetic to our patients’ feelings, it is important to schedule your dental crown treatment as soon as possible to avoid further damage and the need for additional treatments. We want to help you feel more comfortable with the process. Read on to learn more about this common dental treatment and why we may have recommended this treatment method.

Don’t Let Sensitive Teeth Ruin Your Spring

We could not be more pleased that spring has arrived. We don’t know how you feel, but we thought this winter was never going to end! The return of spring also signifies the return of some of our patients’ favorite locations — the local ice cream and ice shops. Would you love to have a big bowl of ice cream but hold off because it brings nothing but discomfort to your teeth? If so, you are experiencing tooth sensitivity. While we all experience it from time to time, if you find that you always avoid certain foods because of sensitivity issues, your mouth might be telling you there is a problem. Read on to learn about what your teeth may be trying to tell you.

At Infinity Dental Wellness, we make both our patients oral and overall health a top priority. We stress to our patients the importance of maintaining routine hygiene examinations as well as continuing with a thorough oral hygiene routine at home. During routine exams in our office, we do much more than inspect for decay and clean and shine your teeth. We also check for other conditions and diseases that can negatively impact the health of your teeth and mouth, as well as lead to severe health complications with your overall health. Importance Of Replacing Missing Teeth

It is not uncommon for us to see patients with missing teeth or recommend that a patient have a tooth extracted. There could be a variety of reasons that a patient is dealing with tooth loss and can range from severe decay to facial trauma or medical complications. No matter the reason for tooth loss, it can be upsetting and traumatic to patients. The first question that we are usually asked is in regards to replacing the tooth and if a tooth replacement option really needs to be chosen. Patients with a visible missing tooth are typically eager to choose a replacement; however, patients who are missing rear molars can show hesitation at times. We encourage all patients to replace their missing teeth as soon as possible.
